The Traveling Hobo Circus

This morning we walked to the Malaysia National bird park and butterfly atrium which both occur amongst a cluster of museums, gardens and observatories at what feels like the highest point in all Malaysia. Well worth the walk tho because the birds were amazing and the butterflies, although less amazing, were certainly more photogenic.
It seems that towards the end of there lives the larger butterflies become very docile and lethargic, making them much more easy to sneak up on and photograph. This one let me get within a few inches and although you may not be able to see it here the back of his wings are bleached and have notches out of them, like when a caterpillar noms round the edge of a leaf.
